Visual inspection methods alone are now not enough and this new equipment purchase gives us and our customers greater peace of mind in the quality of our assemblies. Additionally, the automated record keeping and SPC capabilities of the new system will provide even greater confidence for verification and process control purposes. The versatility of the unit and its innovative technology enables detailed inspection of even the smallest batches.
With an inspection speed of up to 20cm²/sec, the system is designed to detect the presence and absence of components and verify placement accuracy and polarity. Additionally the unit can detect insufficient or excess solder, tombstoning, billboarding, coplanarity, lifted leads and shorts. Orbotech’s Vantage S22 Post Reflow System has been developed with a focus on high-mix, low-volume applications with full inline or offline batch testing capability. Offline, wizard-driven recipe generation allows maximum production utilisation of the system and true 3D inspection from multiple cameras and light sources gives comprehensive defect detection of post-reflow and post-wave PCBAs.
Intuitive defect reporting through a separate verification station ensures a fast, accurate repair cycle and closed loop process control is achieved through Orbotech’s Advisor products, allowing true process capability measurement, SPC and effective process management. AOI libraries, programs and inspection results are centrally located and AOI data can be accessed remotely and across multiple platforms and sites.
