Wilson Process Systems to show full CEM capabilities including volume LED mounting capability at NEW 2009

through hole and surface mount capability demonstrated on Stand D 10, Earls Court 2, 16-18 June

Hastings, June 2009…Exhibiting for the first time at NEW 2009, Wilson Process Systems (WPS), the leading contract manufacturer, will be demonstrating its full CEM capabilities including its ability to mount LED in volume using both traditional through hole and surface mount designs.

Established in 1981, Contract Electronics Manufacturer Wilson Process Systems (WPS) is based in Hastings, East Sussex and employs over 100 personnel. Specialising in Printed Circuit Board Assembly, the company continually invests in new equipment, so is able to offer traditional through hole and fully-automated surface mount production facilities to a wide range of industries including traffic lights and road signage, medical, industrial, audio, inspection and hygiene. The company is registered and approved to BS EN ISO 9001: 2000

WPS has significant contracts via the Highways Agency with UK manufacturers of traffic lights, motorway and roadside signage which involve handling in excess of 20 million LEDS per year. To fulfil these contracts the company has invested in equipment to mount both leaded and surface mount LEDs, most recently increasing its processing capacity of through-hole LEDs to 30,000 components per hour. The new equipment allows axial LEDs to be mounted at any angle on the board, offering great flexibility to LED light system designers.

The company has also invested in additional premises to accommodate its existing and new surface mount equipment, increasing its capacity to over 150,000 component placements per hour as well as improving its capabilities in terms of accuracy in placing fine-pitch devices.

Comments Sales Director, Nick Jones: “We have experience in placing all types of surface mount LED packages including high power/high brightness devices onto a variety of exotic PCBs. We have full test and burn-in facilities to complement our assembly lines, and our technical staff are pleased to assist in the design stage of any new product to ensure that it is optimised for manufacturing to keep costs to a minimum.”
